Cavalier Door Handle Problems

The door handles on my '93 Cavalier (2-door) are slowly giving out. A couple of years ago my passenger side door stopped working from the outside. The door handle would flip up but did not catch on to anything to open the door. I didn't have the passenger side door fixed since the cost was just too high and I did not typically have any passengers Now the same thing has suddenly happened to the driver side door and now both doors are locked.

Would appreciate any ideas on how to get inside the car and to fix the door handle problem. I'm not looking to put much money into the car but would still like it fixed since it still runs well.

It doesn't run if you can't get in!!!

The only way to get in of both have gone is either thru the trunk by way of manipulating the catches for the rear folding seat if you got it and then open the door and take of the door panels and look inside., The bar that goes to the handle will have some loose. If the ahndle its;ef has broken and not that the rod has just come disconnected then just zip tie it to it tightly making a whole in it if you have to. That should work cheaply!
