97 Explorer Head Gasket..?
Leaking head gasket on 4.0 V6..Doesn't smoke YET..no coolant in the oil YET...still runs fine ..130,000 miles. How soon should I get this fixed so I don't ruin the motor or make things more costly...Does $800.00 sound fair for the repair?....
I know it's the gasket because I had it pressure tested.. Thanks |

Re: 97 Explorer Head Gasket..?
flatire .....read the thread title smart guy.
"97 Explorer Head Gasket..?" I'd change that gasket soon, coolant mixed with oil creates a chemical reaction, i forget what kind of chemical it creates but it eats up gaskets. I'd shop around for a better price, its not that difficult of a job and shouldn't take more than 4-5hrs. gl man |
