tranny shifting prob
ok, th700r4 auto tranny. when i leave it in first gear (have a b&m ratchet shifter) it will shift into second at about 3500 rpms. its still in first on the stick but it shifts into second. it did this before i installed the shifter with the stock one. would a manual-automatic shift kit fix this? if not what will...?

I didn't think 700R4's did this but I know 400 Turbos do, it's called govern shifting. When the RPM's reach a certain point, the line pressure in the trans builds up and it shifts on it's own. I know on the 400, it will only govern shift from 1-2. BTW, this is kinda hard on the trans so I wouldn't make a habit of it ( I used to do it every time I drove the S10, but I knew I was going to rebuild it so...what the hell!!)

Sounds Shifty

(We are assuming it's floored when this happens) That's so you don't over-rev. However 3500 is too early. Mine is set at 5500. Yes you can have mods done so it shifts at a higher RPM. . § §§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§ REFUSE . . TO . . LOSE § §§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
