2000 Grand Am - Direction Signal Problem
I have a 2000 Grand Am. After making a turn, there continues to be a very fast clicking nois from the direction signal. The signal indicators on the dash board are not blinking, nor are the signals on the outside of the car. However the fast clicking sound continues intermitently long after the blinker has switched off.

Re: 2000 Grand Am - Direction Signal Problem
haha yes its a recall from last year but they dont pay for it anymore
![]() Its more likely your hazard switch located just above the stereo behind the hazard switch/button! Call a dealer and ask them how much those run. by the way: i have the same problem and if you want you can wait untill i get my new hazard switch and try it out! it will be 1 week max untill i can tell you resultsturn ur music on laud and u'll be fine for 1 week lol

I have just developed the same problem! I tried replacing the turn signal relay attached to the hazard button, but this did not correct the problem. Have you had any luck correcting this problem?

check out this other thread. This is the exact problem and seems to point to the blinker switch (called multifunction switch) (I think the hazard recall is a seperate problem and it seems folks are confusing the two)
Thanks for your quick reply though! http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ghlight=signal |

I replaced the hazard switch yesterday and it seems to fix the problem.
I hope this helps you and wish you the best! ;-) |

I took mine off and cleaned it as suggested in the other post. This corrected the problem for me. It was easy to see what was shorting out when I disassembled the multi-switch. Thanks.
