Super-Z32 project
Well this is just a quick over veiw of the whole project, what I will be attempting and about what I am expecting and how long it will take.
This will not be a cheap project by any stretch of the imagination and I have many other financial obligations that I have to attend to first and during. Let me start by saying that I would like to have this project on the road by summer of next year. But this may not be possible do to any number of reasons, but it will be done sometime this decade at the very least. For those who have seen or heard, I am planning on supercharging a '90-96 300ZX (NA) coupe. At first I thought it would be easier to bolt on a centrifigual setup and go, but I found that wouldnt give me the powerband I was looking for, so I shelved that plan and drew up a new one. Now I am dead set on the Whipple positive displacement twin screw supercharge setup. This will require a complete reworking of the top of the engine (intake plenum upper and lower), throttle bodies, MAF, Intake position and hood. But on the upside I wont have to touch anything past the exhaust ports on the car. This brings me to my budget plans, I am looking at spending around 10K US dollars on this project over the course of the build. To many of you this seems like a HUGE amount of money to build something that may only be as good as a TT. But ask any real racer, not a kid with a fart can on his Honda, and they will tell you 10k is not much when looking for power. So far I am in the beginings of stage 1, this intells the price listing and supply gathering part of the build. Currently I am looking for a place to build this ( got a few in mind but have to wieght and see how this job offer goes) and a stock VG30DE block, no rods, pistons and crank. I would perfer a TT block becuase it is already built for boost but not picky seeing as I am rebuilding it from the ground up anyway. ((taking a break eating))

sounds great!!! i love when i see something different, unless its jorge with his fiter jet rear end (rear splitter, single exhaust, and a friggin surfboard wing)...
j/k jorge.anyways, keep us updated..i would start with a TT block because it has the proper oil cooling set-up for running a boosted engine. i just recently fell in love with superchargers...i have always liked them but damn, they are fun. aint nothing like hearing a supercharger whine at 5000RPMs...

Hodo, you want to start looking for a throttle body and MAF off a VH45DE, a Whipple supercharger and a water/alky injection system...Start looking every day on eBay. How high do you want to go?

((continued))
Now for the minor technical things I have looked into. I plan on running at 9.5:1 static with 14PSI. At first I was looking into the MAF and Throttlebody problem by going outside of Nissan for the TB issue, but after Albert pointed out that the MAF and TB off a VH45DE might work, I may look into that, or I may stick with the throttlebody off a LS1. The hard part really isnt the build itself, thats pretty much lick'm stick'm, the hard part will be the actual engine dyno tuning and ECU programming, for that I plan on going to outside help. I will be using a Zemulator chip set with a WHOLE new engine program from the ground up, this is going to be the painful part. Paying for time on a engine dyno, and finding someone who can do the programing and fine tuning. I figure with a balanced crank, ported and polished heads, Escort Headers(size I havent made up my mind yet) and highflow cats mated to a Borla cat-back exhaust system. All being feed through a custom cowl inducted intake system through a 2-core intercooler into the custom intake plenum. All being fueled by a stock fuel pump and 555CC injectors and a Nismo regulator. My cooling system is going to be a moderately upgraded TT system, most likely the european TT setup. Luckly the oiling system will not have to be modified for the supercharger for it has a internal setup already, but the belt routing and pully rib count will have to be redone. I will have to increase the count on a few of the pulleys that will be attached to the SC to a 6 rib count setup, from the 4 count they are now I believe. This wont be hard Unorthedox Racing already makes pulleys for about every application imaginable, I checked. I should make around 300-350WHP but thats not whats important to me, whats important is that I have a one of a kind. After all the engine work is done thats when the suspension work begins. This will envolve a SPL suspension bushing deletion kit, 10.5" wide rear wheels, and 9.5" fronts. Strut bars front and rear, and a custom carbon fiber hood ( I have to have a hood scoop/cowl made for the charger to fit.) So far my calculations and measurements show that I will have to add about 2-4" to the hood cowl for the system to fit, and thats VERY tightly, I am probly going to end up making it a 6" scoop/cowl for the hood.... it wont be pretty but it will be used, unlike so many other cowl hoods. Lets remember that this is a long term project to build the first REAL super-Z. My goals are 300+ WHP, streetable, reliable, and still be a daily driver not a garage queen. I figure hell if I can build a 400+ WHP chevy 350, I can build a 300+ WHP 3.0L Nissan. I may not actually begin the build till sometime in the summer the way things are looking, but if I am lucky and the Goddess shines down on me, I might get started sooner. (I hope I get started sooner, I already cant sleep at night thinking about every aspect of this project, its become obsetion(spelling)) Perhaps I should seek profecianal help, or I should just get a life..... nah I have a life and it revolves around a Supercharged Z32! In the begining god created the heavons and the earth. A short time later Mr. K created the Z, and I took it a step further.

Re: Super-Z32 project
Its no problem. It happens, anyway all my measurements and calculations are currently for the Whipple AX2300. So I guess it saves me a bit more man hours on my part.

Re: Super-Z32 project
Thanks, I sent a email to his email listed on there. I hope it gets through. His Z doesnt seem streetable with 20lb of boost and running off of 110octane. But it is a beast running 10s so I cant complain.
Also we could perhaps work together on this if you would like, just shoot me a PM and lets see what we have come up with so far.
