Ram Air Intake

After reading a few posts on intakes, most of you agree that its easier to just get a ram air intake since the difference between cai and rai is minimal. With my paycheck i'm buying a rai, but have a few questions before i get the chance to put some money in the bank:
->On some engine setups, i've noticed more than one tube coming from the pipe, which tubes are these? I know one goes from the pipe to the valve cover, but i swear i've seen one going from the pipe to the intake manifold...
->Also, i'm gonna buy a K&N air filter for my rai, but i was wondering how much one of those might run me...?
Thanks for your helps guys.

Re: Ram Air Intake

a Knn filter could run about $40 and those other wires could be from the mas air flow sensor.
