Damn It
Ok i feel stupid. My girlfriend has a 1993 Plymouth Laser, I had this bright idea to replace the radio in it but now i am lost. It has the radio and then underneath it is the tape deck. I went to wal-fart looking for an instal kit but didn't see one. i thought about going to best buy and looking but i haven't got that far yet. What does it take to get that black ring off around the radio and tape thingy. and is there a kit for install |

Re: Radio Install Help
the black trim ring just pops off. then the radio brackets are held in by 4 screws take them out and the radio and tape decks will come out together with a L shaped bracket bolted to each side. take those off and put them on the new radio. since you are probably getting a single din radio you will want either a plate to fill the extra radio slot or you can get a pocket like they came with

Re: Radio Install Help
if your new radio is a single DIN size radio then you dont need anything extra to install it. all you need to do is bolt the brackets onto the sides of it and wire it.

Re: Radio Install Help
Incase you are wondering what each wire does when re-wiring, i suggest taking a look here http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/M...shi-Wiring.pdf(You need adobe acrobat reader, it's free). Excellent writeup about the mitsu radio harness wiring. I personally did not bother to spend money on a wiring kit to install a deck (I'd literally be throwing money in the sewer). Use connectors and the .pdf above to know which wires to connect to. You just have to make sure that when cutting out the original harness, leave few inches of wire incase you ever need to re-connect it.
