LS Steering Wheel and Ignition Stuck

I have had some problems with my 2000 LS. First the battery went bad and now I think the alternator is bad also. So, I went out to roll the car back out of the garage to jump it and the wheel is locked and the ignition is locked up also. The key won't turn at all. I have tried giggling the stearing wheel around and pushing on the brake while turning but no luck. Someone mentioned to me to kinda push the car back and forth to try to get it unlocked but no luck either. If someone could help me, I would really appreciate it. I am running out of ideas and need to get this fixed quickly for my wife.

i'm *guessing* the key lock may be controlled electionicly, hence no battery - no key lock release.
