1989 BMW 735Il Jump Start?

As silly as this sounds, I couldn't find the battery terminals to jump start my 1989 735iL, and had to jump off the starter. Where is the jumper terminals??

Re: 1989 BMW 735Il Jump Start?

Wow bud you too well I found mine its under the seat cusion of the right rear passenger side.

The only way I remembered about the german cars as I was growing up we had a MB 240D the battery is in the same location. But drove me knots for half hour.

Anyway go to http://www.bavauto.com and get your self an E32 manual.

For future issues.

For the negative cable, pick a good negative spot under the bonnet, exhaust manifold or similiar and for the positive theres a little brass 'post' which should be covered by a small square black plastic cover. Looking into the engine bay, on my right hand drive car, its located to the right of the engine, close to the windscreen, right beside the heater valves, above the brake master cylinder. This is the battery positive terminal.
Hope this helps.

Post Good Negative Connection

The positive post is just as another member said, under the hood. The negative cable needs to be FIRMLY attached to a good ground on the engine or frame. I always connect it directly under the intake manifold where my cables fit very tightly. I've tried other points to no avail, and this one always works. Good Luck
