88 Coupe Deville? I have a 90 Coupe with the 4.5 so I assume you have the 4.1? The bottom hose goes from your radiator to your water pump. It shouldn't be that difficult to change a side from maybe reaching the bolt on the clamps. The MAP sensor however is very easy to change and I'm sure you know where that's located right?

Re: Help with map sensor and cooling system on 88 coupe deville
Quote:
Open your hood. The map sensor is a plastic module, approximately 4 inches by 2 inches by 1/2. It is located on a metal bar in the middle of the fire wall, secured by two 3 inch long screws. It has a 3-prong electrical connector underneath (red) and a vaccuum hose underneath, coming from the middle of the left throttle body. It is black, and the GE number on top is 466. This comes from my 1988 Sedan Deville, 4.5 liter engine. The part costs about $80.00. Obviously, you should first replace the hose, and then replace the MAP sensor if the problem persists. I hope this helps. Sincerley, Ed Casper |
