Unhappy Light Problem...

OK, we'll im in a little of a predicament.

After installing a new pioneer head unit and removing the factory amp ( we ran wire to each speaker) it all worked cool but I noticed my gauge lights weren't comin on so I figured out i didnt hook up the "illumination" wire from the bypass harness thing that I got. So my gauge lights come on and i'm like, awesome. Then I get out of my car and realize when the car is on and the lights aren't the left headlight and right tail light are always on and when my car is in acc. with lights on it is visa-versa. But if i turn on my lights then everything work cool except for the little light below the right tail light and the left head light.....

anyone have any idea's???

i can take pictures if you want me too

thanks

WTF? Manned you really fucked things up! Unwire everything so it is just like stock. If everything works like it is supposed to then work from there, one step at a time. Testing each and every time yuo move foward a step.

well heres some pictures...

http://img95.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img95...scf03211xl.jpg (here's us wiring it. im still trying to figure out how wiring speakers and a head unit will affect the tail lights...)

http://img95.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img95...scf03297dp.jpg (heres the tail lights when the car is in acc. and the lights are OFF)

http://img95.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img95...scf03284ti.jpg (but as you can see.....as soon as I turn on my headlights everything is fine....hmmmmm)

http://img95.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img95...scf03318zx.jpg (and a view from the front)

could where my Illumination wire connects with the wires that goto the battery from the head unit be the problem.....should i try connecting the illumination wire to something else?

and does anyone know where the illumination wire for the stock unit goes?? a 12v maybe?

Let me get this straight...you are putting in a sound system including head unit...and you are asking about the wiring to your exterior lights? How in the hell does any of that tie togeather. I ran a whole new sound system...head unit, sub, midrange...and came nowhere even close to touching my light assembly wires. You seriously messed something up...i dont even know where to start...

All you have to do it match colors...or read the fine print on the wires themselves. There should be a P.Cont. wire (Usually blue w/ white stripe), a main power, ground, illumination...and maybe 1 more...but i think thats all i ran. I also used the harness to put in a new deck...and i had no problems. I ran the lead power from my battery through my left fender, in through my driver side interior fuse box, under the door sill, under the carpet through the back seats and ran all the other wires under the center console and under the carpet.

The point im trying to get is that I dont think that there is any relation to your stereo and your fucked up lights. I dont think that any wire you connect to your head unit (that is supposed to be connected to your head unit) will do anything to your exterior lights. Looks like you are up shit crick without a paddle...sorry

Re: Light Problem...

This is where people who had lego's as kids out perform others in following direction's! Go get some lego's and work up from there until you are ready to tackle a car!
