1987 questions
Thinking of buying daughter 87 2.8 with 164000. Maint records seem good, however it feels rough going into gear (automatic) plus when it first starts sounds like a belt squeal but seller says it's not(?) Also there is a tube that is not attached to anything by the firewall. Looked at another fiero and same tube is there. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: 1987 questions
i think its part of the heater core, there is one in the back too...the heater is kinda wierd in that it sucks the warm air off of the engine. at least thats how i heard it works

Re: 1987 questions
There are 2 tubes on the rear wall of the 2.8 cars' engine bay. Inside the trunk area, under the carpet, there is a blower that blows cool air into the engine bay. One cools the alternator, the other cools the ignition coil. They are only meant to blow air in the direction of these component, they are not attached to anything.
It could just need new tranny fluid and the squeal probably is a belt that either needs replaced or tightened. |
