Secret Cams

first of all... what's the secret....

second. are these a viable upgrade? I've heard very little on them... must be because it's a secret. Opinions? I've heard anywhere from 10 to 20 extra horsepower. I'm guessing this is an exaggeration. anyone got some battle tested info maybe? thanks.

That I do. Look at the Cam lift on any performance cam and the stage ones will have no more than .375 lift. you have .345 lift! The stack cams from the 2.3 Cav Z24 of 95 has 375 lift cams so anything under about 45,000 miles or even fresh one will save you money and net the same power gains. You allow more air/fuel to enter the combustion chamber so they will add power! If you really want to go Crazy. Get a W-41 head from and olds, buick whater Gm from about 92 -93 and it'll say W-41 on the idi plate. Use the head from one of them, you can't just use the cams as they are slightly different. The cams have .410 lift! I believe only one company makes perf cams with that much lift! Duration is about 227 intake and 225 exhst!

Re: Secret Cams

Well I guess a trip to reno is in the cards for me. I'll see if I can't dig up that w-41 head. usually those buicks are all stripped down to the bone. Would that w-41 be a direct bolt or would some fabrication be taking place? and cams from a 95 Z-24 eh? alright I'll have to give it my best shot. it's hard living 2 hours away from reno and realizing you didn't bring the proper tools to remove the one part you needed ><

Slight relocation of the power steering pump may be in order. It was only the smaller buicks etc that had, Skyhawk, Olds (under)achieva!

Re: Secret Cams

The mighty Z24 owners of the forum have spoken. Wasn't there some head like an ???086 that is suppose to be off an H.O or somthing like that. I haven't payed much attention to the posts on that.

if it's just that then there shouldn't be an issue. I'll prolly have a harder time finding that head than moving a few things around to get it to fit.
