Hi all,
I have a 1996 sunfire coupe and am having trouble with its power windows. The passeneger side window has stopped working, when i puch the up button the window goes up about an inch and that is all. when i press the down button it doesnt move. any dieas would be great, thank you mike |

Well, better it goes up and not down than the other way around.
![]() It's probably either in the switch, or in the motor itself. You can remove the door skin fairly easily on Sunfires to see what's happening inside. Just remove the 4 phillips screws along the bottom and side of the door panel, and then two 9/32 screws right under the handle. There should be one screw holding that little plastic piece on the a-pillar area - pull that out too. After that it just takes a good tug to release it. You'll need a multimeter to test whether the motor is getting it's power, so that's where I'd start. |
