01 cav wont start

Okay it is not gettin fuel I replaced the fuel pump. and it still wont start. pump works. (and yes i have gas in it)could this be electrical now. the pump was bad and now it is a new one and i cant get it to start.am i just missing somethin???

nope no fuel to the rail. lines are good. relay maybe???

When you put the car in the ON postion i assume you hear it turn on? dissconnect a line after the filter and see if you have fuel commin out at all. If you hear it turn on, its not the relay. But if you do, there is a flow issue.

zooom you are quick to reply TY.. guess i have some things to check tomorrow... just so i dont keep buggin ppl what if there is no flow to the filter.(i just want to fix this thing) could my new fuel pump be bad also? yeah i guess it is not the relay i hear it kick on. thanks for your input

if you hear it kick in then niether the pump nor relay, nor ignition switch are faulty. If there is no flow from the filter it's probably clogged. Actually this is more than like the problem unless there was something that cuased the old fuel pump to go like and obstuction causing it to run dry and burn out also stopping fuel flow.

There is a saftey recall on the 2001 chevy cavalier for the ignition switch. If you hold the ignition in too long when the car wont start, the wires can get hot and catch on fire. Maybe that has something to do with it. If you go to a chevy dealer that handles recalls, you can get the problem fixed for free.

did they fix the problem for the 02 cavalier? or is the recall for 02 also
