2002 4L60E questions
Hello, new to the board, and so far it's great. Nice to have such a wealth of info regarding these trucks!
I need some advice and information. - I'm Not hear to rant at all, just need to solve my problem. I bought my silverado Z71 new in 2002. Long story short - 6 months after purchase I lost the tranny @23000kms. I don't tow anything heavy just a 16' Lund boat. G.M repaired the tranny under warranty with a new input sun gear and reaction shell. Well two nights ago I lost the tranny again! this time at 84000kms. My warranty is up so, G.M. is at this point unsympathetic and I am on my own to fix the truck. It's a daily driver, so the sooner the better. I was wondering what upgrades I should insist on - to the point of a reliable tranny. Not race preped, unless the cost is reasonable or justifiable. I do know that there is a reaction sheild upgrade - and I have heard about the valve body upgrade as well. I have read about sensor upgrades, but I am not sure of which ones. What else should I insist upon? Thanks in advance -Andrew P.S. does anybody have any advice on how to make G.M. more receptive to helping me out with the cost of the rebuild? |

Anyway, just check out their site and check out the parts list on there trannies. You might even want to get one from them. Bernard really knows his trannies, and I'm extremely happy with the one he built for me.
