VTEC Solenoid

BIG PROBLEM. Well, not BIG but it sucks. My VTEC does not work. At 6500 RPM's, the factory engagement point for the VTEC, my car just dies. You know, like when you have a speed limiter on a vehicle and the car just stops when you reach it, it's just like that. It really sucks. Does anyone know what it could be and how to fix it? I talked to a Honda Technician about it and he said it could be the VTEC solenoid, or the switch or something related. Just to clarify, I used to have an Apexi VAFC but I removed it, but when it was in, the VTEC hit at 5500 r's but in fifth gear, at exactly 6500 r's, my car did the same thing, my car just dies. If anyone has had this problem before, please help. Thanks a lot.

Re: VTEC Solenoid

just a quick and simple test ( it might not help) is disconnect the negative side of your battery connection and leave it off for around 10 secs. then put it back on. this will reset ur ecu. this might not be the prob but at least u can rule this out if its not.
