Compound & decals
Hi All,
Yes it's that question again but with a twist!!! B4 anyone asks, Yes, I did use the search function and found lots of extremely similar posts on compound & decals but none asked the question I'm about to. (This is my first attempt at using compound, so please excuse me asking this) After polishing out to a satisfactory level. how long do you have to wait until you can put the decals on? At some point in the near future I'll not need to keep asking questions so please bare with me til then

Re: Compound & decals
After polishing with compound, wash the body thoroughly, once is has dried from washing, apply the decals.

Re: Compound & decals
Once the compund is washed off you can apply the decals immediately if you want. You'll want to wait for the decals to dry before waxing, though.

Re: Compound & decals
Thanks guys
![]() EDIT: Sorry, do you mean rinse it under warm water & dry it with a towel or wash it with warm water & washing up liquid then dry with a towel. I feel such an ass! |

Re: Compound & decals
I wouldn't use a towel as it can leave fibres or maybe hard enough to cause scratches. I suggest compressed air to blow the water off the model. I use a toothbrush and a bit of dishwashing liquid to remove the compound from all the panel lines and other hard to reach spots. Ray has said that dishwashing liquid may contain silicone (bad thing!), but I don't think I have encountered that problem.

Re: Compound & decals
Rinse it under warm water using a soft brush and then blow dry it.
