2002 Sel Not start or crank Please help

Hello I just bought a 2002 sel taurus with 35k miles I bought it in a auction and i tryed to turn it on and no luck it doenst even make a noise, the dash board lights and radio turn on but it doesnt crank I have 2 keys and none work Im guessing it has something to do with the anti-theft system because the Theft light keeps on blinking even after i disarmed the alarm with the factory remote, I tryed to connect the starter direct then it cranks but does not start it seems like the fuel pump is not working because of the alarm system shuts it off. i installed a new battery and still nothing. any help will be apreciated I also need the 2 fuse box list explaining what is each fuse for, Thank you very much

My recollection is that the antitheft system will not prevent thr car from cranking, i.e. the starter motor's turning over. However, will prevent it from starting. So, if it doesn't crank, look for the starter relay. Did you check if it was removed as an additional antitheft measure while in storage? (You say it was a program car).

How did they get it started when you were looking to buy it? Or did you buy it "as is"? Buyer beware.

i have a '98 explorer limited and a 2001 Taurus SES. there was a time with the explorer when something happened like what you are describing, i turned the key and nothing happened, it did not crank, but other electronic things worked, what i founf out is that i had accidentally knoced a chip that is part of the security system out of it's socket and the car will not start with out it. Now my 01 taurus does not have this high security, but maybe since yours is the SEL, top of the line, it has a better security system than others. The slot is under the steering wheel, between the steering column and the brake, in the middle, you should also try looking in the manual. Also, it could be that the keys you have are not transponder keys, and so they will not start the car. Let me know if anything works.

I got my car in the auction stating that it didnt start because its crashed from the front, but the crash is not a big deal it only damaged the condencer and the headlights the air bags didnt even open so meaning it wasnt a bad crash, but my thing is if it crashed then it worked at that point meaning they didnt sell there car because it didnt start they sold it for insurance purposes, they crash it and the insurance gives them a new one and sends the crashed one to a auction, so what im thinking it might of been sitting for such a long time with a drain batterie that it disprogramed the system or since it crashed it made some of the relays go bad or fuses but since I dont have a manual I do not know what each fuse is for what do you guys think?
