Tie Rods and steering
Any major tricks to changing out tie rods other than the alignment issue? Or are they pretty much bolt in and out. Also should i change out anything else directly related while im there?

Re: Tie Rods and steering
bolt in bolt out.
You will have the measure them so you get the new ones in the right way. Then you should get an alignment done.

Re: Tie Rods and steering
Do not forget to grease them... I also reccomending getting a new connecting sleeve as the old one will be a bitch to work with

ok riddle me this. i bought new inner and outers and sleeves. put them in measured and all. looked fine. took it for a ride and it felt like the tires were gonna fall off. went back to the garage and took a look. maybe i didnt tighten them enough? maybe waaayyyy out of alignment now. I dunno. Maybe it magnified another problem? Alll you help is greatly appreciated. There is still some side/side movement but its better than what it was. ALSO GET THIS I BOUGHT TRW TIRE RODS, THEY HAVE NO GREASE FITTINGS. EXPLAIN THAT?!? THE GUY SAID THE GOOD ONES USUALLY DONT.

Re: Tie Rods and steering
Did you grease them prior to driving? You MUST get an alignment after doing them, I don't care how much you measure..How are your ball joints? Are they greased?
