Code P0113 where do I begin?

Okay, I got my code reader today. Car (96 jetta 2.0) is giving 16497 - Intake Air Temp. Sensor (G42): Signal too High
P0113 - 35-00 - -

Where do I begin? Do I need a new IAT? Is there a potential short? Vag com says that air temp is 19.5 celsius ( approx 70 degrees F) weather the IAT harness is connected or not. The sensor reads about 4.5 Kohms at when car is cold (its about 30 degrees outside) It reads 3.5 Kohms when the car reaches operating temperature. The voltage at the IAT harness across terminals is about 4.6 volts.

Ok, I posted Here:

And I got the answer that the circuit and the sensor were in range. I got some electical contact cleaner and sprayed the sensor connectors and the harness connectors. I plugged it in tight, and so far the computer seems to be reading the sensor. The CEL is out. I hope it stays that way.


I just wanted to post the answer in case anyone was curious. The table that was in the reply is a great resourse for evaluating the sensor response.
