Alright. My crazy friend jason has got an 05 Ram 1500 single cab. This is the system were puttin in. 3, count em 3 12" L7 Kicker Solo-Barics @ 2400 RMS. Full audiobahn component system 4 5'1/4 @ 100 RMS each. And a nice 2.4 farad cap. The amps we r running are 2 x 200 rms @ 2 ohm (two 4 ohm components wired together) for the component system and then a 1 x 2400 rms @ 1 ohm for the subs. The sub configuration were using since they are dvc 2 or 4 ohms are: two will be dvc 2ohms wired in series so make a 4 ohm load each then wired together parallel to make a 2 ohm load, then wireing that to the thrid dvc 4 ohm wired in parallel for a 2 ohm, then wiring the 2 subs with the one for a grand total of 1 ohm. So what do you think?

why bother? that just means that i'll have to learn sign language so i can order a McBurger from him. He's going to drive himself deaf, oh wonderful.

i might feel sorry for him when he thumps down the wrong street late at night, and someone steals his gear/truck, or applies a baseball bat to his forehead... but i doubt it.

seriously, what's the point? why doesn't he take the money he was going to put into that system, and make one that he'll actually get some use for, rather then just showing off? with the amount of sound the system outlined will produce, there won't be anything remotely related to music audible for at least a couple dozen yards around- and that's with doors and windows closed.

drop it down to a single sub, AT MOST. get some decent component speakers, some dynamatting, a nice head unit- possibly a music keg or other digital music system? then he'd have a kickass system he can actually listen to music with, he won't piss off the neighbors, and he'll have enough dough left over to start on the supercharger/engine stroking fund.

Hes goin for spl competition, and the system is only gonna cost about a G and for that much you couldnt get much from mopar. They are expensive but he doesnt wanna void his engine warrenty with non mopar parts.

true... guess i've never had to worry about the warrenty it's not a bad thing at all to buy factory aftermarket pieces... they're typically some of the highest quality and most reliable out there. i guess it's up to him what he wants to spend his dough on, but hell, i'd be putting almost all of it back for performance parts, after spec'ing out a nice sound system.

still, i wouldn't have bought a brand new truck either... but that's me.

Thats pretty cool. Mommy and daddy love him, that's where he got his truck. Haha...must be nice. I told him he should go for performance but he wants audio. Plus it already costs him like over 50 for fill his tank. haha sukka
