Post Hyundai Letter?

I just thought I'd ask everyone here about this letter that I got in the mail today. It is for the 1999-2002 model year 2.0L Elantra or 1999-2003 model year 2.0L Tiburon owners. I quote the letter:

"Produced through January 31, 2002, may be subject to cracking. Therefore Hyundai initiated a voluntary program to inspect it, and if necessary, replace the exhaust manifold on your vehicle. To ensure that your vehicle's exhaust manifold is not cracked, we will inspect your vehicle during your next visit to a Hyundai dealer. We also encourage you to bring your vehicle to a Huyndai dealer if you hear any exhaust leaking noise during initial vehicle starting, or during normal operation.* If the exhaust manifold is cracked, we will replace it at no cost to you. If it is not cracked, Hyundai will extend the warranty against the cracking of the exhaust manifold to 10 years and unlimited mileage. The service will be provided free of charge. You should plan to leave your vehicle at your Hyundai dealer to have this service performed. Repair times will vary bla bla bla.." (end of letter)

*What noise would you hear during initial startup or during normal operation of your car? I don't know what I would be listening for, if I wanted to know if the manifold was cracked or not. I also wonder if Hyundai dealers will give us another car to drive while our Tibs or Elantra's are being fixed at no charge?

i would take it in and when you do make some nosie about getting a loaner about the nosie it makes its kind of hard to describe but it is very distinct like you ownt mistake it for something else....i'm trying to think of how to describe it.....if you've ever turned your engine on wen your exhaust was disconneted its that sound but not as strong its harder to hear and from my expericences you dont really hear once it warms up but sometimes if you really get on it you'll hear it. i dont know if its the same when the manifold is cracked turn your radio off and listen for a noise thats not normal
