Torsion bar mount repalcement 91 4.3L 4x4 Need advice...Thanks guys!!

I'm also going to take a stab at replacing my Torsion bar mounts. Is this something I can accomplish without a hoist or special equip?? Any advice appreciated.

Replaced mine on my '91 and it is not too hard. A Haynes manual will help. You don't need the special tool to unload the torsion bars, a larger c-clamp will work. Remember to count the number of turns on the adjustment bolt when you remove it.

Ive replaced these more times than I can remember and Ive never had to touch the load nut / hight adjuster bolt. I just unbolt and pry up and pop them out..

Nope, very easy.

Good luck and come back after it is fixed to let us know how it went.
