Trunk Customizations

Alright so i have 2 12" subs in my trunk and what im planning to do is fill in the empty spaces maybe make a hat rack on the sides or just wood sides. what i need to know is if the bass will be distorted from the wood?

i dont see how it would distort the sound, unless its not bolted down very well... since other then fiberglass boxes (which some have a touch of wood) sub boxes are made of wood... and secondly you have 2 12"s alone a ton of weight, add just a normal box you but a stress on the back end... it can be done but i would venture just not bothering with the hat rack.
