I have a 96 Cavalier and the Headlights all of a sudden went out. At first they would come on for short periods of time then go out again. We changed the switch and also the bulbs and we checked all the fuses and none are blown so far none of this has worked. Any other ideas of what we can check or change?
Thanks for any help! Jen |

The relays may be sticking. Open the fuse panel next to your battery. it will say on top which is which. jusr replace the headlight/drl ones.

We replaced the Daytime Running Lamp (DRL) relay today and it didn't help. Still no headlights or Daytime Running Lamps...

Re: 96 Cavalier Headlight/DRL out
I have the same problem with my 96 cav. The low beams work just fine, but no high beams or drl's. Also on the dash it shows that the high beams are on when it's really the low beams. I've checked all the relays and switch. I have just learned to deal with the lack of high beams for over 2.5 yrs now. Good luck and let me know if you figure it out

Re: 96 Cavalier Headlight/DRL out
well the problem is a wiring issue and it is located in the front of the vehicle removed the plastic pannel on the front under the hood ,remove the right front headlight assembly two 13mm bolts .removed the conduit from that only harness you see runs along the inside area of the front bumper and removed the black tape covering the wiring harness .you will find several factory splices there check them for voltage flow on both sides of the splice. you should find that one of them will not have pass through voltage. cut out and replace with a heatshrink but-connector and your concern should be corrected .
