96 LHS stalls when I stop

Greetings,

This problem popped out from nowhere. My 96 LHS had been cranky for a while when starting...It wouldn't start at once like would take 4 or 5 seconds while starting it. This problem was heightened today when I was driving to work when I stopped at red light and it went off. Subsequently whenever I stop the darn thing stalls and I have to throw it to neutral and feed it some juice to keep it running and thereafter at green put it on drive. It doens't have the check engine light on, a week earlier the serpentine belt snapped and I replaced it. I don't know if it might have knocked out something or not. Please advice for the dealer is charging me a killing for just diagnostics.

Regards,
Michael.

I had the same problem, and dealt with it for 6 months. I finally figured it out, my LHS didn't generate any codes either...it ended up being the crank sensor. If that doesn't solve your problem, most likely it's the fuel pump.

I had same problem with intrepid it is the crank sensor thingy mentioned earlier. I had that replaced along with some other sensor and problem was solved.
