Question 98 GTP Problem

I went and bought a 98 GTP yesterday to have an extra car around and on the way home i rolled down the window and it would not go back up for like 30 min of trying constantly so i got to drive in 30 degree weather with the window down and we called the guy that said the car was perfect and everything worked great and he told us it was our problem now, what a nice guy. right. Anyway i was wondering if anyone knew what the problem could be, im guessing its not the motor since it did eventually go back up, but i dont know much about cars. any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: 98 GTP Problem

Heard a lot of the four doors have a switch troubles. Sometimes when you pull them a part and reinstall they work OK for months.

I don't know how it is where you live. But in Florida you have 48 jours to return a car.
Good luck

This one is a two door

I live in missouri and bought the car in oklahoma. I dont think we have the option of returning a car around here, but hopefully this isnt a big problem because i like the car besides that.

Re: 98 GTP Problem

I have a 2 door, as you can see. I had trouble with the drivers window. Pulled the switch and checked wires. Put it back together, and never happened again.

Grand Prixs are fun to drive, and for about $250.00 on the GTP you can pick up about 30-40 extra HP.
Enjoy

Re: Re: 98 GTP Problem

If you look at the door. The window switch, take a small screw driver. And be careful, very carefull. You release by pushing the clip in. BE CAREFULL. The clips are part of the case.
Here is a picture of the four door one. The clips are about where his hand is. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...953968665&rd=1

The clips are "L" shape. Did I tell you to be carefull?
