Re: short shifters

i honestly can say i don't have a problem at all with the throw of the stock s13 shifter. i don't know what the s14 is like but mine is short to start with. the only way i'd buy a short shifter is if i was dragging

ive driven cars that have a nicer, shorter shift than mine but i have also experienced much worse, i agree 240's are pretty short as is, but i really do want it shorter. So anyone think that $189 shpped for the B&M isnt worth doing? i have yet to find a better deal...

Re: short shifters

seems just a little steep.. but its probably worth it if you really want a shorter throw.. you might only save $15 if you keep looking

B&M says there a reason their products are pricey, they are the last one you'll ever buy! :-P

Re: short shifters

ridiculous how expensive it is tho (the b&m). i was interested in getting one and almost downgraded to obx or something but i think i'm gonna wait it out til i get some extra cash.

dunno about others but my s13's throw is really big. I don't really mind, but it'll be nice to have a nice clean feel to it.

Re: short shifters

The only thing I don't like about the stock shifter is that you can accidently shift into 5th gear very easily when shifting really fast from 2nd to 3rd. Supposedly the B&M fixes that too.

ive been rethinking the b&m a little bit, seeing as the OBX one is like 65-75 bucks...can the B&M really be 100 bucks better? (or the OBX that much worse?) the 75 bucks for the OBX would be like nothing to me, but the 175+ for the B&M would be a chunk out of my bank account.

so basically does the OBX one suck? it seems possible it does, i dont think they are particularly known for super high quality stuff, and i dont want it to rattle and shit. I have also heard that DC sports short shifters have a bad feel to them, low quality...but nothing about OBX though, but what do you guys think?

Re: short shifters

i just go by this method...you get what you pay for. B&M has the brand name and they have pretty much proven themselves as a company...so its up to you. I mean 175 is like 1 pay check...relatively cheap mod if you ask me. Do you work at all?
