Can the air conditioning compressor leak?
I've found some light oil, about like three in one oil, about two feet in from the outside of the right front tire on my 92 park avenue. It appears that the air conditioner compressor is right above it. Can the compressor leak oil? It is fixable without replacing it? What would be the approximate cost? I had it converted to R134A about 18 months ago.

Re: Can the air conditioning compressor leak?
The AC system does use a light oil in the system. It lubricates the inside moving parts of the compressor. Dept/part stores sell both cans of R134 seperately or a recharge kit consisting of a can of oil mixed with R134. Simply add oil/R134 as you normally would to charge the system.

Re: Can the air conditioning compressor leak?
First look at all ac connections(hose fittings ect.) even a damp looking connector could be a leek under pressure. If the oil is dripping out it may not be ac oil.
