rough idle after mod
Tried this on the suburban forum without much luck, thought I'd try here...
I just put an AEM brute force air intake on my 97 k1500 sub. Now I have a rough idle in park, the truck almost won't idle at all in gear. My throttle response is pathetic in lower RPMs and then picks up greatly at higher RPMs. It smells like it's running rich. Will my ecm figure this out on its own? Do I need to reset, and if so, how? Now my check engine light is on...what the @##!&*% have I done? Thanks in advance for the help. Chris PS-Its a 5.7l without any other mods... |

Re: rough idle after mod
If the check engine light is on, you should get the code(s) pulled to help diagnose the problem.
Autozone will scan for free. Did you have to move the MAF sensor to install the air intake? Are you using a MAF wiring harness extender? The MAF is directional so make sure it is facing the right way. If you are using a harness, make sure the connections are good. //2000CAYukon |

Re: rough idle after mod
It is possible you coulda poked one of the MAF wires or even just bumped it cuz they can go bad quick. Mine sputters cuz of a bad MAF, causes the engine to run too rich/lean due to improper air fuel mix.
