One fell victim to the KA-T...

This one is kinda weird because I have no idea what I was racing. But anyways, I had just picked up some food in town and was headed home. I pulled up to the only stoplight in our town and this van pulled up behind me. I watched the perpendicular lane's light change from green... to yellow.... to red. Time to go. So I drove completely normal across the intersection watching the van turn behind me. Then out of nowhere, this car just comes up on my ass. I was like WTF???? So I gave it a little gas, you know, the kind of gas to get a soccer mom off your butt. And I continued this to about 45mph. The speed limit was 35mph. He wasn't leavin. So I punched it, hit boost instantly due to 3500rpm, and then he punched it. I could tell he punched it because he stayed with me to about 60mph, then about 4-5 lenghts appeared between us. I was at 90 in about 5-6seconds and he was back there, but not too far. By the time I got around 100, he was back there. IDK what his deal was. I know he did a ricer-fly-by when I turned. I can't stand those people. I think it was one of the infamous ricers around here.

Cliff notes:
Got food
annoying driver came out of nowhere
annoying driver went nowhere

Re: One fell victim to the KA-T...

I have a FMIC. Boostdesings. And I'm even VTA right now. Yea the 6 secons was a guess. But I did time my 55-80 on camera. It was about 3.2-3 seconds. Its the result of a T04B with a .69ar turbine and now a 3" full exhaust.

Body mods really aren't my style. I gotta get the fuel system taken care of first. Thanks for the support man.

Re: One fell victim to the KA-T...

I may go out to the highway this weekend with a couple friends. For some reason, when I see a Vette or something go by, I wanna go play. But I know I don't stand a chance. Too much hope in my car I guess. I'll see what happens tomorrow.

nissanfanatic did you feel any different in power from the boost design fmic? also did you notice any lose in throttle response?

what is the a/r for your compressor? my T04B is a .60 A/R on the compressor and .58 A/R on the turbine, this replacement turbo i got ( that still burns oil ) freaking spools so much harder and flows so much more air then my original one. my original one at 9 psi only flowed 38% on the Z air flow meter. the new one flows 44% on a cold day!!! i had to richen it up by 4% across the board on my SAFC to play it safe.

which means turbo2nr we should meet up again soon and i'll show you how my car feels now.

Re: One fell victim to the KA-T...

You know, the Boostdesings intercooler definataly gave more power, but it actually improved throttle response. If you were only closer to Fl, I would meet up with you and show you just how well though out the kit is. The intercooler is very small, but very efficient and the bends are very smooth. BOV is much more vocal and I'm assuming functional.

My turbo is the same as yours with the .69ar turbine. It spools hard as hell. Like the Escudo on GT3.hahahah Tonight when I was messin around before the run in with Captian Doofus, I punched it in first gear at like 2500rpm, and when I hit about 3K, it just spooled and kicked the back end out in this parking lot. It was super cool...

So do you feel a 6% increase in power? So you should be around 245whp now. Nice...

Are you running a restrictor or -3an line? You may even need a restrictor with 3an, but I don't see why. No problems here, even with 5w-30 synthetic.

i wouldn't say 6% faster, it just flows more air. my car hits 9 psi by 5.5K in first gear. and in second gear its like 3.5-4K.

however i have a hard time spinning my cars or getting the rear to step out from a roll becasue my 5 zigen typhoons are 22 lbs per rim without tires, and i'm running 225's all around. so its alittle more grippier then your 6 inch wide 195's.

i'm running a oil restrictor on my -4an oil feed line. i think i'm gonna switch to mineral oil instead of synthetic. maybe the thicker oil would save me alittle.

Re: One fell victim to the KA-T...

Thats 205s buddy

eh I figured with more air, you would have gained a little power. But its cool that you have a good working turbo now.

But I'm gonna say the biggest gain lately has come from my new downpipe.

What weight are you running right now? I'm assuming 5w-30 becuase of temps.

Whats the word on those nismo injectors and JWT ECU?

Re: One fell victim to the KA-T...

I'm gonna dyno after I get my SAFC and injectors. I'm really shooting in the direction of Anthony's car. I'll probably do 8-9psi with that setup, and maybe more after I get a Z32 MAFS. hahahahahaha tire ownage. I don't want to spend too much money on this engine because I would like to get my project engine done pretty soon. hahahahahaha tire ownage.

Tat and turbo2nr, you guys know Ivan just opened up a forum on his website right? www.phatka-t.com Its mainly the same crew, which is really cool. I love being able to get advice from people making 2-3 times as much power as me.
