Selling My Car

ok folks its come to this. i have my 1991 Honda CRX on the block. first things first, there is no engine but i will gladly sell the motor, which is ready to be installed, all it needs is fluids, and spark plugs. furthermore, the engine has an auto trans, which is hard to install, so a swap to manual would be in order. anyway, not sure how to transport such things, so a NY area pickup would be preferred.

Car Specs:
1991 White Honda CRX DX
16" Borbet Type M Rims w/rim locks and key
New Tires Kumho ECSTA 712's 215/40/zr16
2-1/4" Mandrel Bent custom exhuast with apexi muffler.
Black Projector Headlights
Black Corners
Black Tails
Interior mint, except drivers seat bolster has usual honda rip.
no radio or speakers
body mint, except one small rust free dent above right rear tire.
Aerogear Predator Hood(not painted)
Aerogear Hy-Bryd Side Skirts(not painted)
Wings West rear bumper(not painted)
i have the stock front bumper as well as a Street Fighter Series 1 bumper(not installed or painted) i will include both.
$2,000

Engine Specs:
b16a
CTR cams, pistons, rods
Crower SS Valves
Crower Titanium Retainers
BPM Dual Valve Springs
AEM Intake
Bosch 8mm Wires
DC Header
Catco High Flow Cat
Skunk2 Cam Gears or maybe aem i forget which, ill look.
HCP Mount Kit for any 88-91 civic/crx
Complete Wire Harness for Auto Trans and Dx model conversion to mpfi
3500rpm stall torque converter
new bearings, gaskets and seals, engine was completly rebuilt by a dedicated machine shop.
over $4000 invested in motor, will sell at $2500

sorry for long post, but i have no pics of the engine, and some older pics of my car which ill post, any q's email me at [email protected] ill take newer pics whenever i can.

Re: Selling My Car

aww man...sad to hear about that but guess that auto project never really worked out huh I'm going to try it with an automatic d-series transmission (since my car already has it i shouldn't have problems with wiring or custom mounts, etc). Going to contact a few places and see what they can do to help it handle some more horses!

Anyway, bump for a good car! This is a steal, all it needs is a manual swap and it's good to go, crx with b16!

Re: Selling My Car

yea it turned out to be alot harder than i imagined, which is sad, cuz i really wanted this swap to work. as it turns out ive started moving away from the whole tuner scene as im getting older, so the micro-compact crx just isnt big enough to hold my 6'2" 275lb frame anymore. i may just lease an Acura TL or Chrysler 300c

Re: Selling My Car

ah, if you're going to go that way, don't lease Just pay a little more and then overtime you will own the car, and if you get the tuner bug again you don't have to worry about putting all the factory stuff back when the lease is up. Also, i say buying the car is more cost effective. Get a good downpayment and you're monthly payments will be less than if you leased the car. Sure if anything goes wrong with leased car they give you another or fix the prob, but if you buy it they give you a pretty sweet warranty.

And if I was that tall I don't even think i'd be driving a CRX lol. My friend is about 6 foot and he thinks the civic is too small

But whichever way you go, get an import (preferably a honda product lol). You'll definitely be happy.

Re: Selling My Car

good choice it'd be a shame to spend so much time on the car and then just sell it without even seeing what the motor is capable of.

Hey, maybe you can sell someone that built-up automatic transmission and they can tackle a b-series auto project as well. And it'd be a deal since the tranny is built already (i think). Or you can sell to someone who already has an auto with a b-series and jus wants a stronger tranny? anywho, i hear from everyone that you'll be happy with your manual swap ^_^
