Question Tibs turbo kits

I buying an 05 I-4 Tib at the end of this month. I want to get a turbo kit(among other upgrades) but there are only three I think may work. Anybody know of any others or if these are at all good?

Alpine turbo kit(read lots of bad stuff about this one)
GUDE Tiburon Turbo Kits
Real Engineering Turbo kit

I also know and am prepared to do much more to the car, suspension, ecu,exhaust,polish/port, etc, but wasn't sure on sites that have stuff available besides importshark.com(good site). Let me know on the kits and stuff. Thanx

well.......... ask yourself this:
whats your budget, how much whp do you want, are you looking to upgrade later, etc etc etc...

Gude turbo kit.. only 1 out right now.. but a good kit
Real engineering kit(s) are all nice.. but noones purchased any.. (i know the guy who runs the shop, he knows hi sstuff)
Alpine kit has been doing well one teh 1 tib (03+) thats installed on it.. its at 16+psi... ill see if i can pull up the dyno...

Well I'm really not sure how much power i am gonna want to go with. i'm figuring high 200's-300 could keep me happy. But i'm sure enough will never be enough. My buddy's buying a srt-4 next week and i gotta keep close to that atleast. Thanks for the info on the kits. As for cash.....without saying "money is no option," its not a big one. I mean whatever it takes it takes. I dont wanna blow more money then i have to, but i also dont wanna drop 13g's when its not necessary. I still gotta give it looks.

I've just read in soo many other forums that the alpine kit limits your car. so if you wnat 220hp and nothing else ever you are set, but can't get more out of it. The others i wasn't sure about. Real engineering one seems damn nice and glad to know atleast someone who knows their stuff knows the guy. And the GUDE one seems good, but it says 6.5psi, i didnt know if it can handle more than that.(i know it would also take realistic upgrades on car too). But yeah, high 200's-300 in hp would just be great.....

Re: Tibs turbo kits

http://www.speed-factor.com

Tim (the guy that runs Speed Factor) has been making kits for us first/second gen guys for awhile now. I think he's even made a few kits for a couple of GK guys. Everyone that has one of his kits says they're really, really good.

Well that is cool about speed factor, but i thought he only made kits for the older models....01 and older, i dont know the difference in model things...rd or gk or something. But thats great if he makes them for new cars cause everyone says he's the best. As for the bse/real kit any idea who sells those? But being that the GUDE kit can do 20 psi...nice. I didn't knwo if the 6.5 was recommended or max. Damn you all know your crap. Thanx for the info

Re: Tibs turbo kits

any kit can go to XXpsi.. you jus have different things to upgrade (if needed)... fuel injectors... upgrading teh turbo, intercooler, etc etc etc.. stuff to make up for the up in horse power

when you want to go for high hp number.. upgrading the internals is a must...

getting your heads ported and flowed is always a plus (adds a good deal of hp)...
see what im gettin at?

Re: Re: Tibs turbo kits

Nisco i know what you mean. Polish and porting heads is about the first thing i am gonna do in this....very fast process. Its more beyond that i was wondering. Also, i plan on most normal upgrades too. You got any suggestions on what internals are more of a real help or necessary? Cam shafts, pistons? or others or what? Trying to get everything lined up so it can be a very fast job....i cant be getting my ass kicked driving by my buddy srt or many others for long. thanx man

Re: Tibs turbo kits

You'll need to get some forged, low comp. pistons, forged con. rods, and a forged crankshaft. Forged valves wouldn't hurt, either.
