Angry Governor at 120!!!

I just replaced the old speedometer in my 5.0 with one that goes up to 140mph. The old one I had only went up to 120 and I had never hit the governor. I hit 120 today, hoping to see how close to the 140 I would get and the governor kicked in. Where is it and how can I get rid of it? Thanks for any help or insite you can give me.
