I own a 97 Blazer. It will start, but when you press down the brake to take it out of park the gear shift will not move. When I push in the button on the gear shift it just makes a clicking sound, but does not move. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be? Thanks.

Re: 97 Blazer Gear Shift Problem
First, check the brake switch under the brake pedal and make sure it is working properly.
If it is, then migrate to the console shifter and take it apart and make sure the gear level button is pushing in all the way.
