Should my weather stripping look like this? *Pics*

It's like this on both sides. Ecactly the same. If you push on it, it wont budge. But it's just in the middle of the windows. As you can kind of see, it gradually goes back to flush in front and in back of the area in the pics. Are youre windows like this or is it just mine?

There is this little plastic tab thing sticking out here.

And it looks like water would drain down into this area, at the back of the front window (and into the car?)

Mines like this too. Both of them. Dont know if that's normal. I've been tryingto get that off because mine is black, and the paint is scrapping away. Not sure how to paint it wihtout taking it off.

Mine looks like that too. But its not as bad as yours. You can get some new weather stripping at machv.com.

So it seems like this is normal. Is there any way to find out if it's suposed to be like that? Cause it doesn't seem like it should be. It looks perfectly fine otherwise.

Umm... Its not like that on my Talon... Mine is right up against it with no gap at all. Could it be warping from weather and age?

Maybe, but the car is only like 6 years old and other than the gap, the weather stripping looks brand new. I'm thinking *maybe* he had the stripping replaced and they forgot to take out the little plastic tabs or something. I really have no idea. Or it may just be a problem with the factory stripping. I thought maybe I'd call a Mitsu dealership and ask, but I don't know if I'll get any helpful info. I can't think of any other way to find out. I measured it and it's 1/4 inch gap on the driver's side and a little under that on the passenger.

I have a friend that works at the Mitsubishi dealership here. I'll see him on Tuesday and ask him if they had any problems with it... He's a smart guy, he'll know somethin.

Re: Should my weather stripping look like this? *Pics*

For those of you that have this problem or your door trim is getting old, you can get it here http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...=7&catalogid=2 for about $48. They call it "drip moulding." Or like RaginAsian said, you can get it from MachV for $64. And here's a writeup on how to take it out/install it. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/show...pper+door+trim

EDIT: Link should be fixed.

Thats a good find for $48, but the link doesnt work. If mine gets any worse I guess I'll have to change it.
