Re: b16 whats it matter

I think the only thing that keeps people from the hydraulic setup is cause you would have to Mount a clutch master cyl, run lines for it and everything else, i think another reason for such a large price difference is availability. People who had these motors in their cars originally for the most part kept them cause they were happy with them and this made people who didn't have the motor in their car to put it in so therefore short supply high demand= Extra cost. Good luck with the swap man

Re: b16 whats it matter

Get the 1st gen! It comes with the older cable trany that you need and a non-OBD ECU that you also need, and its cheaper!

www.passwordjdm.com has them for $1050!!!

Go there!

Re: b16 whats it matter

I have the 2nd gen with a cable tranny, I think its difference is 8-10 horse, if I had the chance, i'd go hydro tranny cause most the hydros come LSD...

Re: b16 whats it matter

I agree with the greatness of the 2nd gen sometimes comming with an LSD tranny, but I dunno if that and the extra 10hp justifies the $1000 price difference between the two. All the same, some 1st gens are available with an LSD if you shop around and know the right people.

Its really your call, the 2nd gens have slightly better cams (ie: 2 or so HP) and a considerably better intake manifold wich is most likley where the power difference would be.
