1995 Lincoln air suspension

I have a 1995 Lincoln Continental and am having problems with my front air bags. I know my drivers side bag is leaking. Everytime I start the car the compressor would come on and pump up the bags. The bags would pump up and the compressor would shut off. Recently the compressor would stay on al ot longer before it would fill the bags (several minutes). Now the compressor only stays on for maybe a minute and shuts off with a Check ride control. The front driver'is side bag is not raising up as far as it normally would in the past. I am in the process of getting a set of air bags for the front. My question for is why is the compressor now shutting off a lot sooner then in the past? Could the height sensor be bad? Everything was working normal ( for having a leaky air bag) until we hit a stretch of cold weather here. Wheel wells full of ice, I was suspecting the air lines were possibly frozen, I went to a car was and then the air bags seemed to fill up properly. Now I am at the problem with the compressor shutting down before the bags are full.

Any suggestions.

Thanks.

Re: 1995 Lincoln air suspension

It sounds to me that you have weakned your compressor by driveing the car with a leaking bag in the front. Also, you might be freezing the moisture in the dryer which will cause the compressor to run but not pump up the bags. That will also burn up the compressor. While you are waiting on your parts I would turn the air ride switch in the trunk off to avoid more repairs. Have you decided where to get the parts at?
