Where is the temp gauge sensor at?

I have a 95 Lumina 3.1 and the dash temp gauge quit working awhile ago. Fan's quit working as well. Im assuming the two are linked.

Have replaced relays, the coolant sensor and a few other things so be on the safe side. Still wasn't working so I went ahead and hardwired my fans to a on/off switch as a temporary fix.

My problem right now is that I cannot find the single wire temp gauge sensor. Only reference I can find is that its somewhere near the EGR valve. Didn't help much. Still can't locate it. I don't even know if its there anymore. Engine got pulled to put in a new tranny awhile back and that actually when this all started happening. Found the green single lead power plug for the temp gauge sensor. But like I said. Cant find the sensor to reconnect it.

Any help would be appreciated. Pic would be the best

If its the single-lead temp sensor, that's for the head sensor. Not many later 3x00 engines have provisions for the thing, afaik, but you might be able to find out what the thermistor was and mount one close to the wire for the dash guage.

All I know is that after my car came out of the shop for a new tranny my dash guage, compressor clutch , and radiator fans quit working. I've been trying to find a common thing that could of pegged all three but I'm not having any luck.

My biggest concern is getting my gauge fixed though. Hate not knowing how hot the car is running.

Compressor is started to be needed as well. Texas weather and no A/C is not fun.
