Brake Warning Light
I have a 2001 Town & Country. A red brake warning light stays on. The brakes work fine and the parking brake works perfect. A computer analysis indicates it is the parking brake. Can someone tell me the fix so I can pass the vehicle inspection?
Thanks |

Re: Brake Warning Light
When you use your parking brake, there is usually a switch on the arm of the foot level that sets the braking brake light in use. If the pedal doesn't return all the way when you release the parking brake, the cable may have slack in it and just in need of adjustment. Light will stays on for this reason.
To see if this is the case, try releasing the parking brake, and at the same time, pulling the parking brake lever up to the maximum position it will go. See if the light goes off. |

Re: Brake Warning Light
another thing to check is make sure your brake fluid is full; it'll light up that warning light on your dash as well.

Re: Brake Warning Light
Mine always sticks on unless I pull up on the e-brake pedal while pulling the release.
