85 Golf trans swap with 92 Golf diesel

Hi all, Checking to see if I can transfer new drive axles ,struts, front hub bearing assy., from my 85 1.8 gas Golf to my 92 Golf 1.6 diesel? I have a new head on the 1.6 diesel (92) My 85 last year had new struts, drive axles, hub bearings and we are junking it out after it still quits after a new fuel pump...We will be putting all the new stuff on the 92 IF it will interchange. Hope someone could shed a bit of light on this delema.

Thanks, Boschmann. The 92 was Canadian made so my speedo is about 7MPH slow. The 1.6 diesel is so good on fuel and this little car handles fantastic. I have installed new heater motor,116.heater core 100. rebuilt the head 687.00 . The gas 85 before bumping into this one at a yard sale just got new struts, hub bearings, two new drive axles. It will save a bunch if this hardware fits the 92. God only knows how many miles is on my 92 but I always wanted the diesel.
