1994 Pontiac Trans Am Lt1 350 vs. Dodge SRT-t

Who would win the 1/4?

I also would like to know what would be the first thing to do to a stock engine to make it faster... any suggestions?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. When you say 2000 Mustang and camaro you have to be more specific with which model cause they both came in V6 and V8(not to mention the mustang had variety's v8's available). The 94 T/A and SRT-4 would be a good race but I think the LT1 will be able to take it with the torque advantage and since it doesn't have the need to spool but really a driver's race.

first thing to do is always the exhaust, let it breathe ... headers, etc,
chip tuning or different carb depending on the type of injection and for more fun different camshaft...

Race em and see who would win. Then, afterwords talk to the guy and discuss mods to both vehicles. Everyone wins.

There's a bunch of things you could do.

definitely let it breathe like they said above. By this- you need to also remove the stock air intake. It's seriously choked up in front of the mass airflow sensor. Replace it with either an aftermarket "intake" or make your own. The Mass airflow sensor isn't that bad, so I'd leave that for later. I had installed SLP headers on my '95 T/A as well as an SLP cat back system. loved them both. definitely reccomend. I had also installed AFR heads on my car. loved those too. I had no breathing problems with these on there. I highly reccomend these if you cna afford them. Of course these are expensive, so unless you're serious, leave the heads for later. And if you're into the heads, you may as well swap the cam...

Hypertech makes the power programmer. this is a good investment. in addition to the "power tuning" it offers, you can re-calibrate your speedo if you ever change gears or tire diameters, you can take out the speed limiter, change shift points (if you have an auto trans), etc.. lots of goodies. Other little things you cna do to get a few ponies here and there are things liek an MSD ignition box, a reduced crank pulley, re-position the air temp sensor (see LS1.com for this)

all depends on how fast you want to really go.

I hope this helps.

One other thing I'd reccomend for your car- you should consider changing the "optispark" (distributor) to a '95 and later vented style one. the '93 and '94 models were not vented, and if coolant or moisture gets in there you'lll be calling AAA for a tow home. This won't give you more power, but it'll make your car that much more reliable. You could probalby get this on ebay.
