1991 LeSabre Driver Door Panel Removal
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the door panel off so I can fix a broken driver's side door handle that will not open the door.
There is a door pull thing that seems to be screwed/bolted through the door panel and into the door and I cannot get the damned thing off. I think I have all the hidden bolts and screws off - the only thing that seems to be holding the door panel on is where the strap (the thing you pull to close the door) is bolted/screwed on. Anybody ever done this before? Any help will be hugely appreciated. Haynes is no help. |

I am not 100% sure about this but I think the plastic pieces at each end of the strap pop off to reveal a screw.

It's tricky if it's the first time doing it. Using a flat head screwdriver, you gently pry the leatherette ends of the handle to reveil a large philips screw. I hope that works for you.

Re: Re: 1991 LeSabre Driver Door Panel Removal
Thanks everyone for the tips. I am going to try again to get the door handle off tomorrow... I'll let you know how I make out (fingers crossed). My wife and I bought this car with 49,000 miles on it in mint condition for our daughter last year. Poor kid has had to get into her car from the passenger side for some time now. Hopefully, "Daddy will save the Day" tomorrow
. Thanks again.
