I have a 95 Accent and if I don't let the car warm up for 10-15 mintues when I accelerate the car will spit/sputter like its not getting gas. My father and I have changed alot of new parts over the past week because it was doing it 100x worse before. We think most of the problem had to do with a gas line that had a pin hole leak in it and air was getting inside the line. That seemed to stop most of it now it just does it when the car is not warmed up. After it is warmed up I have no problems. Anybody have a clue??? Thanks!!

Re: Fuel Problem...can anybody help??
Hi lance,
I have a similar problem with my 95 Accent. However the problem is not constant. It does it for 2 whole weeks and works perfectly in the next week. It only does it in the first 5 minutes before its automatic choke stabilzes to 1000 revs. Even if not accelerating the car will stop on its own. My local Hyundai service people do not know what it is. They've already changed the Relay ASSY-FUEL Pump twice and now the Fuel Pump itself. They have checked out the carburator and supposedly cleaned it. But I still get this problem. My hunch is that it is a problem with the automatic choke settings. However Hyundai people did not agree. Am still working on it. Duncan |

Re: Re: Fuel Problem...can anybody help??
Just an update on my situation. My accent is now spitting/sputtering almost every day. I just changed the fuel filter in hopes that it would have some effect. I was wrong. The only parts not changed that might cause a problem are the oxygen sensor and fuel pump. Any tips would be great. Thanks.

Actually I changed all the plugs and wires. I called a local Hyundai dealership and he believes it is the "mass air flow sensor." Luckily I have a parts car to get it off otherwise it is $329.99. But thanks anyway.
