Unhappy Brake Lights Not Working

I have just bought a 1995 Escort Encore 3 Door. I have since discovered that the brake lights do not work. I have checked the bulbs and they are ok. In the past there has been a 3rd brake light added onto the window but it has since been removed. Does anyone know what i need to do.

Re: Brake Lights Not Working

If your turn signals and hazard lamps are working, the problem is in your brake light switch. The brake light switch is located at the top of the brake pedal. TO CHECK: Disconnect the brake light switch connector and use a 'jumper wire' between the two connectors. If the brake light works, the switch is bad. Remove & Replace.
