Ontario Street Races (Saturday Night)
First off, I have to apologize because I left my Video Camera at my friends house so no videos. I was killing myself because I wish I brought it. Anywayz.......Well this month, My cousin came out from NC to visit the family before he goes to Iraq (he's a marine) and he recently just got into the modified car craze. Unfortunatly, he's a F&F junkie. He recently bought A 2003 Dodge Stratus SXT 2 Door coupe and he thinks its the bomb. He called me about a week before he came out to Cali and told me to get ready to Deficate myself once I say his car. Well, I saw his car and for his first mods he chose a blue underkit, inside neons, and a flowmaster dual muffler tip. Not too ricey but not my first choice of mods. Needless to say, my pants are still pretty clean. But when he seen and rode in my DSM, he fell in love. He's actually talking about getting one now. Anyways, since he is into cars now, I decided to take him to the Street Races down in Ontario to show him what a real car can do. Since we were going, I decided to get a group together and bring them all too. So I got 4 cousins,1 friend, my sister, and my girl and we all headed out.
I Usually never go on Saturdays to the street races, because there are too many retards out on Saturaday, But I know that Friday and Saturdays are the best days to go if your trying to show someone the whole street racing scene. So, we get to the meeting spot about 12 oclock and we see the usual. People doing donuts in the parking lots, Drifting and Burning out, women showing their twins, women kissing each other, guys hitting on those females, music blasting, and people dancing. Kinda like a big party. Anyways, we finally decided to head out to a track. We get to the first track, and people geting a couple of runs before the cops come and break it up. So everyone leaves and head over to a new track. This is why I hate Saturadays though. While it's all fun because there's alot of people and party like atmosphere, no races really go down. And thats because people are dumb. Us people that go all the time know of like 10 different tracks to go to and on the days where the fast cars and the hardcore racers come out, we use them all. But on Saturdays, the racers only go around to the same 3 tracks. OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!! So from 1am-3am we drove around to the same tracks and the cops shoo'd us off. It got so bad that the cops just stayed at each of the tracks and waited for us to come there. Luckly though, while we drive around, women are hanging out of cars, flashing and kissing and all that good stuff. Keep us entertained while we drive around. But at 3am, things usually get better because alot of the rice decides to go home (past there bedtime) and the cops also have a shift change. So at 3 am, we finally found a good spot to get some runs in. I pull over to the curb and watch a few runs and talk to my friends and family. I usually don't run to much anymore when I go out to the races. I'm like stuck in this void now. The fast V8's don't ever want to run me because I'm a "crappy import" and the civics don't really wanna run me either because I'm too fast. So I usually just scout out and try and find something that will be worthy competition or just fun to race. Well a few minutes after we got there, I saw somthing that I wanted to run.... something that I just HAD to run. A Yellow 05 Mustang GT pulled into the line to race. I jumped in my car and pulled over next to him in the line. He looked over at me and I gave him a nod, assuring him that I was going to be his opponent. He smiled and then I got ready for the launch. I floored the gas and the revs bounced at 5500 thanks to DSMLINK . The flagger pointed at me and I noded to show I was ready, He looked at the mustang and he revved up. The the flagger dropped his arms. I slip the clutch and jump ahead of the 05 GT about 1&1/2 - 2cars. I look back in my side mirror and I think to myself "Pretty good launch, just gotta keep it up." I pop in the clutch and throw the shifter into second gear and then I here the most disturbing and dissapointing sound ever. Kinda sounds like CCCCCCRRRRRRRUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNCCCCHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Yeah I mishifted second gear.......... BAD. My first though was "Oh Shit, It's over. Get the Hell in Bastard!" Then I finally got it in. I look back and damnit, the Stang has closed the gap. He's almost at my bumper now! I keep looking back and I see that his pull is slowing down. By my shift to third gear, his pull has ended and actually I start to pull away from him again, By fourth gear I'm about 1 & a half cars ahead on the GT again, so I flash my hazards to tell him it's over. I turn around and drive back over to my group, leaving my hazards on (to rub it in a little bit ). But before I get to my group, I see another car that I might want to run. A 03 Mustang Cobra. I pull up next to the Cobra and I ask him. "Hey, are you gonna run that thing tonight." He says, "Naw man, not tonight." So I just pull up to my group. We briefly talk about the kill on the Mustang and how they heard the misshift and they're suprized that I was able to pull that off. I told them I was too. My girl and my friend Mykel told me that they wanted to ride with me the rest of the night, I didn't care too muh so I let them in (There only about an added 250lbs so no big deal.) Then I pulled back into the line, hoping that the cobra would change his mind and come join me. Once I pull back into the line, I spot something that might be just as good as that cobra. I pull up to the fornt of the line and I call the flagger to my car. I tell him, " Hey, I want you to go call that car over and tell him to run me." He looked over to the car and then he looked back at with a confused look. He asked me "Don't you know what that is?" I said "Yeah, so..." And he said "Thats a Trans Am WS6. Dude, He'll kick your @$$." I smiled at him and said "Oh really, lets see." He walked over to the WS6. They talked for a bit then he walked back over to me. "He said he doesn't want to run you." he said with a confused look. I was like "Well F*** him." (See what I mean about the V8's not wanting to run the "crappy import") Then a Black 300zx pulls up next to me. I look over to him and ask him "Twin turbo or no?" And he said "No." So I told him that I didn't want to run then. But he insisted, so I did it. Needless to say, It was a killing by like a city block. Also ran a modded RSX-S. Same results. After that run, I pulled up next to the WS6 and I asked him "What the hell, why won't you run me?" He told me that he was callin out one of his friends in a SS Camaro to run me. I was cool with that so I told him I'd do it. We agreed and then I got back in line to have a little fun until the SS arrived. When I line up again, I was suprised to see the Cobra had decided to give me a run (I guess he stepped off his podium to run with a crappy import.) When he pulled up, I rolled down my window to chit chat a little bit but he didn't even glance my way. So rolled up my window and ready up. The cobra the spins his tires a little to heat up his tires for better grip. I rev up to 5500 and I tell myself, "I can't fuck up, I can't fuck up." .The flagger drops his arms and boom were off. BY the end of first I pull about 1 car out. These cobra's get off the line pretty good. I look back and I get discouraged a little, I was expecting a bigger jump. I shift to second gear and I notice that I actually pull even futher away from the cobra. By the shift to 3rd gear, I have about 2 cars on the cobra. I shift to 3rd gear and I start to get a little worried. I know with AWD we have some high speed drivetrain loss, so I start to get worried that the Cobra might reel me in. I look in the side mirror, and I actually see that I'm still creeping away from the Cobra (slowly but surely). I get all cocky then I decide to go a little further to see what happens in the higher speeds. So get brave and shift to 4th gear. I see the stang shift and then he stops my pulling, but he's still not pulling at all. I've got about 2 1/2 cars on this Cobra in 4th gear and he's not even pulling on me (WITH AWD!!!!). At about 110, I shut down and flash the hazards. I turn around and I pull over next to my group and I get out of the car. The cobra then pulls up to me and says, "Hey, lets go down a little further." I look at him like he's crazy. "Dude, We shifted to 4th gear man. I was going like 110 when I shut down. I'm not about to do like 130 on city streets man." He then says, "I would have caught you if we kept going." Then I say "Yeah maybe when I topped out, You went even pulling on me while I was in 4th." He then revs his Engine and does a burnout and pulls away (I must say, that supercharger doesn't sound too bad.) After I talk to the Cobra, I get approched by 3 different guys wanting me to join their crews. One of the guys was in the same crew as the Cobra. He gave me his whole speech about how they only have turbo and supercharged cars in their crew and how they been looking for a good GSX to let in. Also how they have sponcers and all that Ish. But I decide to not join any (I'm not good with commitment. Having to make meeting and all that stuff.) Then I see that my race has finally arrived. The 98-02 SS Camaro pulls over to the curb rumbling like a damn earthquake. He pulls over right behind his WS6 friend and they both get out of their cars. I hop in my car with my girl and Mykel and rush over to them. I pull and I tell him that I'm the one he's suppose to run. He then says he only runs for money. I'm like "Aww come on man, I'm a broke ass college student man, I don't have any cash on me." Then he shrugges his shoulders. (I HATE PEOPLE LIKE THAT!!! RACING IS A HOBBY THAT CAN MAKE YOU A LITTLE MONEY ON THE SIDE, NOT A DAMN JOB!) I thought about raising the boost from the 15psi I usually run at, to like 25 psi and running him for money even though I had none. But I haven't tuned it yet for 25psi and it ain't worth blowing up shit. So I'm like "Asshole" and I drive away. So I waited all damn night to race that damn SS and his punk self only wants to run for money. I'm still kicking myself becuase Kevin (95_GSXRacer) was gonna help me tune my car to boost 25 psi last week, but I was too lazy to post up some DSMLINK logs. Oh well though because about 2 minutes after I talk to them the police came and broke up the races. After they came, I decided I was tired (it was like 4am) so I told everyone that we were going home. Cliff Notes: None. I spent all that time writing the post so read it. Hell the computer even froze up once yesterday when I was almost dome so I had to write it all over again. SO NO CLIFF NOTES

Very entertaining story, I didn’t want it to end. Have you run at the track yet, and what kind of numbers are you putting down? The 03/04 Cobras are no joke, especially when moded, but then again neither are DSMs. Nice kills!

Nice job! By the way, I want to have sex with your car, would you mind? I'll clean it up afterwards...... You are BARELY getting into that 60 trim turbo only boostin 15psi, you REALLY should get that working to its fuller potential. Just wanted to let you know you made me damn jealous, and i hate you. Ok, no, not really, but good kills, way to represent the DSM'ers. How do you like the apexi 3" downpipe? I'll be getting that soon to go along with the Apexi cat-back. Test pipes of course, I just hope it's not TOO loud and not that annoying buzzing sound. Your thoughts? By the way, you NEED to hit the track ASAP boosting 25lbs.....I want to sex ur car....thrice

Wow, sounds like a pretty good night all around, too bad that ws6 and SS wouldn't run. It was funny, for some reason, I forgot how modded you were, and am thinking to myself, "WTF?" Then I scrolled down to your sig...."Oh that explains alot"
Good runs, and I completely agree with what's been said, get it tuned for at least 20psi, you aren't taking advantage of that turbo's potential. So what do you run at the track now? And what are you planning to run at 25psi?

On a side note, chances are you don't want to try and run 25PSI on pump gas tuned or not.

Thanks alot for all the props, kudos and what not. I have no Idea what it runs right now but I'm guessing 12's. I ran a 12 sec civic hatch with a B18C5 and I beat him. I believe he ran 12's too because in was fast as hell too.(He showed me the slip also.) I had a feeling that everyone was gonna wanna call B.S. first
. But yeah I'm pretty decently modded. The city we were running in Ontario Cali if anyone wants to come out. Hopefully I'll get to race Red soon (since he's only like 25-30 miles away from me.) Whenever I stop being lazy and got to one of the Z meets.

I have a GSX........... not a GS-T. I didn't spend 6 months looking around for a turbo AWD to be called a GS-T. (No offense FWD owners but you gotta understand)
