Re: My first drift car?
are you ready for the love hate relationship that you will have with the rotary engine (though i must say mine has given me no problems since ive had it)?
whats the mileage and body condition? i would keep the a/c, i dont like freezing in the winter.

Re: My first drift car?
Ask yourself if your prepared to put in special effort to maintain the rotary of the rx7.
If you want bang for buck, with alright reliability, go with a turbo 180sx or silvia, they go for around $10AUS here in aus, but i dunno how the situation is where your at.

Re: My first drift car?
Yeah i called about it and found out the reason its so cheap is it needs an apex seal on the first rotar. then i go searching again and i found a 87 300zx that needs a new clutch for around 6-700 hundred too

Re: My first drift car?
FC huh... those are getting harder and harder to find nowadays. It's almost impossible to find one in clean running condition. Most of which u find...you will have to put some work in it. But never underestimate the rotary 13B... it's got crazy potential and a wicked redline...
i'd say a beat up FC goes for about that price on ebay... you are pretty much buying the body and a block that needs plenty of work ... but what's wrong with that? haha.. sounds like more fun to me. |

actually it's not that impossible at all. not up here in Ontario, anyways.
i've got a line on what might be my next car. '89 FC, yellow, 18" wheels, HKS turbo, 285hp, upgraded internals, 30k on rebuilt engine. all for $4k Canadian. i'm calling about it tomorrow. but anyways, if an apex seal is done, just rebuild the engine. while you're at it, open up the ports (street port would be ideal for you by the sounds of it), put in some thicker seals. hell you could even go turbo if you wanted. one of the things that converted me to a rotary lover from being an SR20 lover is the sheer amount of combinations you can do with it. also, those engines LOVE to be beat. as long as you TAKE CARE of them, they will go to redline all day long and come back for more. most people think rotary engines are completely unreliable and are plagued with trouble. those are the ignorant people. most people think a car is simply a tool of transportation. rotary engines require care, and that's all. give it care, watch your fluid levels, and it will happily serve you, on and off the track. good luck man.

Re: My first drift car?
sweet... Maybe i'll look into Canadian Rx-7's and 240's...
you can find modded FC's here on Ebay but it'll be hard to find stock ones... something you can actually put some of your own work into... |

looking into Canadian 240's wouldn't be a good idea...not ones from here in Ontario anyways...
Ontario over-salts their roads in the winter, so the majority of S13's in Ontario (including my old one) are eaten alive by rust. S13's are very susceptible to rust in many areas, and our salt problem just speeds it up. you have to pay upwards of $5,000 canadian for a STOCK S13 that's worth your time. anything lower is rusted beyond repair most of the time. however FC's don't have this problem since they seem to be built of stronger steel or something.
