96 Maxima Cruise problem

I have a 96 Maxima SE 5 spd. Ok here's the deal my cruise works intermitton. I'll be driving down the hiway with the cruise on and then all of a sudden the cruise kicks off and the cruise light on the dash starts blinking until I shut the cruise off. Then after waiting 5-60 minutes I'll turn the button and try to set the cruise and the light starts blinking. Then latter on i'll try the cruise and it works fine for a while then kicks off again. Any ideas what's up? Could it be the speed sensor?

The cruise uses its own vacuum pump as pwr source. Check its vacuum hose for cracks.

Under dash is its ctrl box. Oxidized connectors? Open its connector, clean with spray cleaner.

seek out www.autozone.com online manual

Connectors cleanup etc.: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748507/14

The #1 cause of Nissan cruise {ACSD} failure is broken contacts inside the brake light/ASCD cancel switch mounted on your brake pedal. You need an ohm meter or test light to check.Bottom line you must have 12 volts at the lightgreen/red wire at the sw2itch with key on and foot off brake pedal.
