extra coolant lines?
hey, the new radiator for my eclipse has 2 extra lines comming out of the bottom. they are only about 1/4 inch diameter and one just sticks out like a inch and the other comes out a little and hooks to the right. My old radiator doesn't have these.
Could it be this radiator is for an automoatic eclipse? Are those definatly water lines? They look like they come out of the bottom end tank so I guess they are. My other question is if these are coolant lines and if they are pressurized can i use these for the water cooling if I turbo it? thanks

Re: extra coolant lines?
Odds are they are for a tranny cooler. If htas the case, you wont be able to use them for the turbo, since you dont have anything to pump the fluid. In auto tranny radiators, the tranny fluid is what circulates through that part of the radiator, not coolant. Its really just another radiator attached to the first. People go to the seperate ones you see in the catalogs just because they are bigger (and better).

Re: extra coolant lines?
thanks kevin. do you think if i were to use a inline pump or something it could cool enough for a turbo? i was thinking i could just make a it a seperate cooling system for the turbo. peace

Re: extra coolant lines?
Sure, it would work. But it is worth it. I Dont even bother water cooling my turbos anymore.
